Red Lips

Jessica Chastain wears red lipstick to the 2013 Oscars

If you watched the Grammy's, Emmy's, Golden Globes or Oscars you may have noticed that red lips are hot and on trend this year. If you're thinking that you want to have a fierce pout for your wedding day, then we suggest that you definitely test out the look before your big day before going out on the town, or to a special event. By testing the look (if you don't already wear red lipstick) will help you get accustomed to wearing such a bright colour on your lips. Read these 4 steps to help you get this look.

Adele receives her Oscar with a sultry red kisser.
If you're looking a good lipstick to look fabulous and wear well during your wedding day, we recommend Arbonne's long-wearing, feather-resistant lipstick in Scarlet, Strawberry or Runway Rouge. Arbonne's products are plant-based, making them vegan and contain no mineral oil or parabens. This lipstick offers full coverage and intensely conditions and hydrates your lips leaving them kissable for your Groom.

I'm an Independent Consultant for Arbonne and would love to show you some products and cosmetics, including the lipstick in shades of red. Discounts are available when you order through me.

Be bold and try a new look that is oh-so-hot right now!

Hairspiration

I just made up a word. That's right, Hairspiration. Ya dig, it?

With the Oscars being tomorrow, I thought why not look to them for inspiration for your bridal hairstyle?  A lot of women like to watch the Red Carpet to see who's wearing what, by whom and what accessories did they choose to glam it up? Some may be jewelery, others may be their date...hello, Stacy Keibler, I mean you.

Here are some hairstyles from past Oscars. Would you pick one of these for your special day? No? Then tune in tomorrow to see what's hot for hair and be inspired.

They like me, they really like me!

I'm honoured and beyond excited to announced that I have been nominated for a Hamilton Readers Choice Award! Not only was I, Diane Morris nominated, but so was The Bride's Butler - which oddly means I'm competing against myself!! Two other local Planners are also competing along with me for the award.

Being recognized for this means that I'm doing what I set out to do - provide excellent service and support to my clients. It's a wonderful feeling to know that past clients are happy and thankful for the services I provided on their most special day.

Voting has begun and wraps up at noon on February 26th. If you'd like to vote, please select
"The Bride's Butler" under Best People - Wedding Planners. It's free to vote, you just need to register.

Thank you again to those that nominated me, and for those that voted. Since it's Award Season and all with the Oscars ahead, I'll go and prep my acceptance speech now....

Best Picture

Can you guess which "Best Picture" Oscar Nominated Film could be the inspiration behind these wedding photos? Taking elements and ideas (fashion, colours, setting) from a movie is a great way to help formulate a theme/tone for your special event.

Black & White is elegant.

Cookie favours for a Bridal Shower.

Groom or Groomsmen cuff links. A great gift for your guy.

Giddy Up. Showing your personality through your Bridal Shoes
is a trend that most Brides incorporate into their big day.

Purple = Royalty.

And the Oscar goes to.....

With the awards season upon us, I got a little inspired to put together an Oscar themed wedding on Bridal Canvas. Using gold, red and black - I created a collaboration of images to portray an elegant and sophisticated event where celebrities dine on the finest of foods, and drink the best of the bubbly. Getting married? Hosting an event?
Try making an inspiration board using magazine or online images. Have fun!

The images for this canvas where sourced online from various sites.
