Congrats Lizzie & John!

Remember back in the beginning of the New Year when I told you how excited I was to be coordinating the wedding of Lizzie & John? Well, I've gotten my hands on some photos to share their beautiful and unique winter wedding with you!

Tying the knot on February 16th in Hamilton, these two movie buffs exchanged vows in front of their closest family and friends. With a theme of movies, red, white and black, they captured old hollywood charm.

Photos were captured by their friend Lindsay of Lindsay Taylor Photography and were taken at the RBG in Hamilton and the waterfront. The beautiful fascinator that the Bride wore is from my friend and industry professional Kalee at Frilly Bits.

The wedding ceremony and reception was held at Carmen's and was a fabulous event complete with cupcake from Sweetness Bakery, a homemade photo booth made by the Groom and his Groomsmen, and a choreographed dance by the Bride and her maids.

Congratulations to Lizzie & John! It was a pleasure to work alongside you on your special day, and I hope to spend more time with you in the near future with other events and opportunities. :)

Wedding Videos

The word 'video' makes me think of a VHS - an old school way to capture memories. These days technology is so high end that you can end up with a wedding video that looks like a mini-movie.

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with the team from Captivate Bridal for the wedding of Natalie and Jason this past June. Now, I've gushed quite a bit about their wedding here, and here and have bragged about ther 2 page spread they got in the Hamilton Halton Weddings Magazine - and once you see this video you'll know why this wedding is one of my all time favourites. Not only are Natalie and Jason adorable, oh-so-good-looking and in love, but their wedding was full of beautiful details, precious moments and many smiles.

Click here to watch the film.

I love how it starts out with the boys kickin' back and having a game of road hockey. What a great way to let off some steam that accompanies the nerves of a wedding day.

And then at 1:44 you get a look at how Natalie spent her morning getting ready with her best girlfriends.

If you're a Daddy's girl, you'll get choked up at around 3:10 when her Dad enters and you can hear parts of his speech to his daughter and her new husband. Sigh.

Also, take note of how many times Jason looks at Natalie so adoringly. I found myself smiling along with him and even getting a little misty eyed.

Kudos to Captivate Bridal for capturing their wedding in such a beautiful and memorable way.

Do you want your big day captured on film? Then check out Captivate Bridal so you too can have such a fabulous keepsake.

Lights, camera, action!

I'm so excited to be the Day of Coordinator for Lizzie & John's big day in February! They've planned a movie themed wedding and I can't wait to hear all of their fine details when we have our final meeting in a few weeks.

I was connected with Lizzie through Twitter (man, I love Twitter) when looking for bartenders for an August 2012 couple. Lizzie & John were on hand for Mary-Anne and Anthony's wedding and they were fantastic! They are such a cute pair - they are they type of  kind, genuine people that go above and beyond for others. Since the August wedding, they've also provided bar services for a Holiday Party I coordinated for my full-time gig at Mabel's Labels. Simply put, I adore these two and am so looking forward to assisting them on their most special day!

Best Picture

Can you guess which "Best Picture" Oscar Nominated Film could be the inspiration behind these wedding photos? Taking elements and ideas (fashion, colours, setting) from a movie is a great way to help formulate a theme/tone for your special event.

Black & White is elegant.

Cookie favours for a Bridal Shower.

Groom or Groomsmen cuff links. A great gift for your guy.

Giddy Up. Showing your personality through your Bridal Shoes
is a trend that most Brides incorporate into their big day.

Purple = Royalty.

You'll Shoot Your Eye Out Kid!

Merry Christmas!!

"A Christmas Story" has been one of my favourite holiday movies since I was a child. I remember watching it on VHS with my family in the late 80's and it seemed like no one else had ever heard of it. Classmates thought I was weird, and you just couldn't find movie memorabilia anywhere. Now, this movie is a fan favourite and a cult classic. My Dad & I are huge fans, we know almost every line!

Last weekend I travelled to Cleveland, OH to see the actual house from the movie. It's staged to be just like the house was during the movie, and to my delight, Ian Petrella (who played kid brother Randy) was on hand for a meet & greet! Although our meeting was brief, it was a moment I will always cherish.
Being able to see and feel places in the house that were shared by the actors in the movie was an unbelievable experience! The current owner of the house has done a fantastic job with props like furniture, wallpaper and antiques to make it feel like you're at the "Parker's".

As well as the house, there's a museum dedicated to actual movie props like wardrobe pieces, scripts and toys used in the film.

To have visited "A Christmas Story" house was a fantastic way to start off my holidays! I wish you a very Merry Christmas filled with fond memories of the past, and wonderful memories made for future reminiscing with family and friends. I also hope that like Ralphie in the movie, you get what you wished for this Christmas.

'The Notebook' inspired E-session

"So it's not gonna be easy. It's going to be really hard; we're gonna have to work at this everyday, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, everyday. You and me... everyday."
~Noah, The Notebook

I saw this engagement session the other day on Green Wedding Shoes and my mouth dropped. This couple displays the essence of adventure and love from the movie The Notebook. Photographed by Chelsea from Blushing Bride in Montreal, these photos are truly one of a kind.
